4 Key Ways to Change a Bad Habit
We all have them, we all work to overcome them… Bad Habits. Sometimes those bad habits can seem impossible to rid from our lives. But we can overcome them and move on towards success in that area.
Success Coach Jim Rohn gave 4 keys to changing bad habits in his book “7 Strategies for Wealth & Happiness.” He explains how to use what might seem to be negative emotions to propel you to make those needed changes in you life.
Here are 4 Key Ways to Chang a Bad Habit.
Disgust can be one of the most powerful emotions when channeled properly. It can propel you to change your habits and your life. When you have a habit that’s hard to break, use disgust to get beyond it.
When you tell yourself that “enough is enough.” When you become so disgusted at yourself for being in the situation you’re in because of some bad habit(s) you can use that negative emotion to push yourself to finally make the needed changes.
After you’re at the point of being disgusted at your current situation and disgusted at the habits that have put your there; Then make the firm decision to deal with the situation and the bad habits and make definite changes towards success.
You must make the definite decision that you WILL change that habit and WILL overcome and be successful.
Then you must have a strong Desire to overcome and achieve the success you are reaching for. Many success coaches have written about the need for a strong, burning desire to achieve your goal. Here is where your Disgust and your Decision must be channeled into a burning desire to change and achieve.
Next we must have a Resolve. A determination that we WILL do it. When one truly resolves to do something, nothing can stop them. Resolve is the determination to Never Give Up.
